A delicious, nutritious pup-friendly snack, making the most of autumn bounty.
What you'll need
1 sweet potato
140g wholewheat flour
140g peanut butter (make sure it's xylitol free!)
1 butternut squash
A small pinch of cinnamon
Step-by-step method
Peel and chop your sweet potato and squash.
Immerse in water in a pan and bring to the boil. Boil until tender.
Remove from the pan, drain and let it cool.
Once totally cool, mash the sweet potato and squash.
Empty mash into a mixing bowl and add peanut butter, flour, and cinnamon.
Mix until it forms a dough.
Roll small amounts of dough in your hands, and flatten onto a baking tray. Continue until all the dough has been used.
Bake for 15-20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
Don't forget to reduce your dog’s usual food portion so they’re not overfed. If your dog has sensitivities to these ingredients, it's best to stick to tried-and-tested treats.
